Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square

Tiananmen Squarem, folks lined up outside to view Chairman Mao's body.

Olympic topiaries and those that guard them.
Entrance to The Fobidden City.

Funky theatre people from Northwestern China posing with our guide, Peter, outside The Forbidden City.

Inside outer city of The Forbidden City.

Entering the inner city where the Emporers lived.

Only the Emporer could use yellow tiles for his roofs.

Arriving in Guangzhou from Beijing with our friends and travelmates, Vonna and Sean. Sean cracked everyone up on the plane by enthusiastically participating in the flight attendant led stretching exercises. I accidently bumped the light switch in the gangway, turning off the lights on everyone...twice. That was after I busted my seat's recline button on the flight from Tokyo to Beijing. Three mechanics were called in and the flight was delayed 30 minutes because my seat would not stay in the "upright position". I'm not kidding.
