Don't mind me, just mowing the lawn

First of all and this just has to be said...I was completely freaked out by Carrie Underwood on American Idol last night, weren't you? Girl got hit by a truck carrying Dolly Parton's rejected costumes (and for the record, I loves me some Dolly), Mystic Tan supplies, hilarious song lyrics and diet supplements. Holy cow and yikes. Nice legs, though.

We've put Helen to work out in the yard:

Random shots from the past week

Helen loves to hold small items between her toes. Maybe she's preparing for flip-flops?

Just in case you needed a close-up of that...!

This one is for Aunt Mary:

Helen enjoying some baked beans. Yummy, a family favorite!

May Day Parade 2008

Helen rockin' her Peruvian poncho (Bruno/Allyson - thanks!).
It was a lovely day for the doings.

Our friends, Liz and Owen, taking in the parade curbside.

Some of the parade action - I'm not sure...mushroom people?
(Check out the huge, cool face in the background.)

Helen with her dad and Owen's dad, Dennis.

All the awesome Powderhorn Parkers and their kids in homemade costumes. Always brings a tear to my eye.

Daughter and dad (squinting in the beautiful sunshine).

That face is in the dictionary under "Naptime".

Happy May Day!

Helen's First Steps - May 2, 2008

Fair warning: I was so excited to catch this moment on video that not only is there (1) a huge "WooHOO!" from me, so watch your volume, but there's (2) a big jerk upwards at one point because I pumped my fist. A couple of days short of 17 months - a BIG/BIG day at our house!

Check it out...
